Trailer Drops for Ninja Wars: Blackfox vs Shogun’s Ninja
PUBLISHED 17 MAR 2026
A new chapter in modern ninja cinema is on the horizon with the release of the trailer for Ninja Wars: Blackfox vs Shogun's Ninja, a crossover event bringing together two popular franchises into a single expanding storyline now dubbed “Sakamoto’s Ninja Universe.”
The film unites the worlds of BLACKFOX: Age of the Ninja and SHOGUN'S NINJA, both of which have built strong international audiences online. Blackfox has amassed over 20 million views, while Shogun’s Ninja quickly surpassed one million following its debut—clear signs of the growing global appetite for stylised, high-energy period ninja action.
At the centre of the story is Rikka Isurugi, played by Chihiro Yamamoto, leader of the Fox Clan. Investigating a mysterious rebel group known as the White Lotus, she crosses paths with Okyo, a Fuma ninja portrayed by Kanon Miyahara. As tensions rise, both are drawn into a larger conflict against the Iga clan, led by the legendary Hattori Hanzo, played by Kane Kosugi.
Kosugi’s involvement is a major highlight for martial arts fans. The son of iconic ninja film star Sho Kosugi, he first rose to prominence in Japan through his role as Jiraiya in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. In Ninja Wars, he takes on a darker role as a vengeful Hanzo, setting the stage for a major on-screen clash with martial arts veteran Yasuaki Kurata.
Directed and choreographed by Sakamoto, known for his dynamic action style and tokusatsu credentials, the film promises large-scale battles, intricate fight choreography and a three-way struggle between the Fox Clan, Fuma Ninja and Iga Ninja factions.
The film is set to premiere on March 29, exclusively via YouTube for members of the 24/7 SAMURAI-SHINOBI channel. The platform continues to grow as a destination for fans of samurai and shinobi culture, offering a curated library of classic and modern Japanese action content.
With its blend of established characters, high-level martial arts talent and cinematic ambition, Ninja Wars: Blackfox vs Shogun’s Ninja looks set to be one of the most exciting ninja releases of the year.
