Bujinkan Leeds Marks 20 Years with Special Anniversary Seminar

PUBLISHED 27 SEPT 2025

Two Decades of Dedication, Discipline, and Dojo Spirit

This October, Bujinkan practitioners from across the region will gather to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 20 years of Bujinkan Leeds. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong foundations in authentic Japanese martial arts, the Leeds-based dojo will mark the occasion with a day-long anniversary seminar on Saturday, 18th October at the Martial Arts Hut in Leeds.

Founded and led by Peter Sabourn, Bujinkan Leeds has quietly become a cornerstone of the UK Bujinkan community. Originally based in Headingley, the dojo has since relocated to Fir Tree Vale, where it continues to teach the timeless principles of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu — a martial art rooted in the battlefield tactics of medieval Japan and adapted for modern-day self-protection.

The club’s focus has always been on the fundamentals of both armed and unarmed combat, but more than that, it champions an ethos that keeps students coming back: train hard, enjoy the journey, and support one another. That inclusive mindset has seen the club thrive for two decades, welcoming everyone from complete beginners to seasoned martial artists.

To celebrate 20 years of commitment, growth, and community, the upcoming seminar promises to be something special. Guest teachers will join Peter Sabourn to lead sessions throughout the day, offering attendees a rich and varied training experience.

The seminar is open to all levels of experience and costs £25, which includes lunch — a chance to relax and connect with fellow practitioners off the mats.
