Bujinkan Seminar Circuit

The Unmissable Bujinkan Events of 2026

Bujinkan practitioners around the world, mark your calendars—2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant years in recent memory for Taikai and high-level training seminars. With appearances from some of the art's most revered Shihan and Soke, the global Bujinkan community is preparing for a year of deep learning, camaraderie, and perhaps even history in the making.

From the heart of Europe to the coasts of North America, training opportunities with masters like Noguchi Sensei, Nagato Sensei, Furuta Sensei, and Nagase Daishihan offer rare moments to connect directly with the lineage of the art, under the guidance of those who carry its deepest teachings.

BUJINKAN 2026 NOGUCHI TAIKAI (MARCH 2026, USA)

Kicking off the year with a major announcement, BKRBUDO has confirmed plans for the BUJINKAN 2026 NOGUCHI TAIKAI, tentatively scheduled for three days in March. This landmark event is poised to be an unforgettable gathering—not just because Noguchi Sensei will be leading the training, but because he has personally invited Nagase Daishihan, a Menkyo Kaiden holder and respected Bujinkan senior, to co-instruct.

The invitation came during a spontaneous video call while BKR's Alex Esteve was dining with Nagase Sensei in Japan. The excitement was immediate and unanimous—this Taikai will be a rare collaboration between two highly respected figures, offering a rich training experience that spans decades of wisdom and movement.

More details will be revealed soon.

FURUTA SENSEI – HOUSTON & CALGARY

Adding to the buzz, Furuta Sensei, the current Sōke of Kumogakure Ryū, has announced two major events in 2026:

  • February 2026 – Tai Kai in Houston, Texas

  • August 28–30, 2026 – Tai Kai in Calgary, Canada

Stay tuned for further details on these events, as more information on registration, venues, and schedule is expected to follow in the coming months.

NAGATO SENSEI – AUSTRIA TAIKAI, MAY 1–3, 2026

Bujinkan Austria is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a three-day Taikai hosted by Nagato Toshiro Sensei, from May 1st to 3rd, 2026.

Held in the heart of Europe, this seminar promises to be more than just a training event—it will be a celebration of Budō and community. With over 60 years of martial experience, including judo, kickboxing, and decades of training directly under Grandmaster Hatsumi, Nagato Sensei, the current Sōke of Shinden Fudō Ryū, brings a grounded, powerful, and expansive energy to his teaching.

Known affectionately as the "gentle giant," Nagato Sensei’s Taikai are characterized by fluid movement, seamless transitions, and deep insight into the rhythm of combat. Steve Olsen, a long-time Budōka based in Japan, will serve as translator throughout the event, making these teachings accessible to all.

NAGATO SENSEI – PARIS TAIKAI, DECEMBER 5–7, 2025

While technically still in 2025, this event sets the stage for the 2026 training calendar. Paris will host Nagato Sensei for the first time ever at a three-day Taikai from December 5th to 7th, 2025.

Organized with precision and international participation in mind, this seminar will include:

  • Daily training with English translation

  • Sakki test opportunities

  • Group photo sessions and networking among Budōka

Coming just months before his appearance in Austria, this event offers a rare opportunity to learn from Nagato Sensei in a Western European setting.

A HISTORIC YEAR AHEAD

With so many events on the horizon, 2026 could be a defining year for global Bujinkan practitioners. These Taikai represent more than just a chance to train—they are a living transmission of an evolving martial tradition.  Each event has the potential to deepen your understanding, sharpen your practice, and connect you more deeply with the art.
